Technological progress has reshaped education, particularly with the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into classrooms and management systems. While this shift opens new opportunities, the absence of a clear ethical framework may expose education to risks that undermine its human and pedagogical essence.
This study is grounded in the belief that education requires not only advanced tools but also guiding values. A systematic literature review was conducted, following PRISMA guidelines, to analyze educational and international sources and to examine major global initiatives, including those from UNESCO, the European Union, and the OECD.
The review highlighted several pressing challenges: algorithmic bias, privacy concerns, lack of transparency, and gaps in teachers’ and policymakers’ awareness of ethical implications. Conversely, international initiatives converged on core values such as fairness, accountability, and human dignity, though their effective application requires contextual adaptation within local educational systems. The study recommends the development of a binding legal and ethical framework to regulate AI use in education, alongside fostering digital and ethical literacy among teachers and learners. It further emphasizes piloting responsible initiatives while ensuring that teachers remain central as mentors and guardians of the human dimension in the digital era.
The research focused on five elements:Clarifying AI applications in education, Analyzing key ethical principles,Reviewing international initiatives, Identifying ethical challenges and risks, Proposing a locally adapted ethical model.
