Recent years have witnessed significant developments in artificial intelligence technologies, which we see penetrating multiple fields, including education and scientific research. Although these technologies provide opportunities to facilitate academic work, they have also raised profound issues related to the concept of academic integrity. It has become possible to produce texts, reports, and research using these technologies without any real effort on the part of the researcher. Hence, the urgent need to reconsider the concept of academic integrity in light of these technological transformations has emerged. The research problem is defined by the following questions: What is the extent of the impact of artificial intelligence technologies on scientific research and academic integrity? What are the ethical challenges that these tools pose to researchers and academic institutions? Through this, the study aims to analyze the impact of artificial intelligence on adherence to standards of academic integrity in scientific research and to present proposals for regulating the use of artificial intelligence in a manner consistent with the ethical values of research.
To achieve this goal, I used a descriptive analytical approach to explain the impact of artificial intelligence on scientific research and scientific integrity. I divided the research into the following: First topic: The significance of the concepts: scientific integrity, scientific research, artificial intelligence Second topic:
Aspects that threaten scientific integrity Third topic: The ethical dimension of using artificial intelligence the hypothesized outcomes were: Artificial intelligence must be approached within a strict ethical framework that preserves the spirit of scientific integrity. Providing specific academic policies and practices that ensure the responsible use of artificial intelligence technologies, thus enhancing the quality of research and preserving its credibility.
